On Friday, I seem to have thrown my back in some way. I can't imagine what caused that. Having to lift a Mastiff again? Some stupid movement I did on the bike? I don't know. I just know that I woke up yesterday and realized that bending down enough to get dressed hurt.
This annoys me for a number of reasons. Number one being that fact that doing the afternoon shift as the on duty emergency vet sucks majorly if you can't move properly. Especially since a lot of our equipment is stored near the floor. Number two and three being that I'm generally quite flexible and my attitude towards my body tends to be "You do what I tell you to do or else...". This still works, but forcing myself to move despite the pain takes time.
Time is something I don't have, it's the reason I try to avoid visiting a doctor. Thankfully I'm relatively insensitive to pain, so hopefully an Aspirin, some topical Voltaren and heat will do the trick.
If anyone ever wondered, I guess this proves that 'Doctors make the worst patients' holds true for vets as well.
